Playlists & advance conditions
A playlist is an ordered sequence of compositions that plays in a loop. It is what you assign to a screen.
Create a playlist
- Go to Playlists and click New playlist.
- Add compositions to the timeline (from the media/composition picker).
- Drag clips to reorder; resize a clip to change its duration.
- Changes autosave — an indicator shows the save state.
Durations and the timeline
- Each item has a duration (how long it shows before advancing).
- Set a playlist default duration that items inherit, or give an item its own override.
- The timeline shows each clip to scale; zoom and snap help precise edits.
- Insert a fixed-duration gap (blank) between clips with the "+ Gap" splitters.
Advance conditions
The Advance control on each item decides when playback moves to the next item. Hover the ? next to the Advance control in the app for a quick reminder.
| Mode | Advances when… | Use for |
|---|---|---|
| Duration | the item's duration elapses | images, static designs |
| On end | a video finishes (with a duration safety-net) | full videos you want shown completely |
| Replays | the item has looped N times | short clips you want repeated |
| Max time or replays | whichever comes first: a time cap or N replays | mixed content with a hard time budget |
Video-only modes (On end, Replays) are available when the item contains a video. Selecting plain Duration clears any special policy back to the simple timed advance.
Transitions
Set a default transition (and its duration) between items; individual items can override it.
Assign to a screen
Open a screen, go to its Content tab, and pick this playlist. The screen begins looping it within seconds. Use schedules to switch playlists by time of day.
