Getting started
This walkthrough takes you from an empty account to a live screen in about ten minutes. It follows the Vewport pipeline: Media → Design → Composition → Playlist → Screen.
Tip: the in-app guided tour walks you through the same path. Click the ? in
the top bar, or New here? → Take the tour in any empty section, to launch it.
The tour is non-forcing — it follows along as you work and you can dismiss it any
time.
1. Upload media
- Go to Media in the sidebar.
- Drag an image or video onto the upload area (or click Upload).
- Wait for processing to finish — the asset appears in your library.
Media is reusable: upload an image once and use it in any number of designs. You can also add external URLs, embeds, and live streams — see Media library.
2. Build a design
- Go to Designs and click New design (or Start from a template).
- The designer opens. Use the Elements panel on the left to add text, shapes, and media. Adjust anything you select in the Properties panel on the right.
- Click Save in the top toolbar.
First time in the designer? A short canvas tour offers itself automatically, and you can relaunch it from the ? button in the designer toolbar. Full details in Designer basics.
3. Arrange a composition
A composition places one or more designs on a single page (think of it as a chapter). For a single full-screen design, a one-design composition is all you need.
- Go to Compositions and click New composition.
- Drag a design from the library panel onto the canvas; position and size it.
- Save.
More in Compositions.
4. Order compositions into a playlist
- Go to Playlists and click New playlist.
- Add your composition(s) to the timeline.
- Set how long each one shows and how it advances to the next — see advance conditions.
5. Pair and assign a screen
- On the display you want to use, open the player URL in a browser. It shows a 6-character pairing code.
- In Vewport, go to Screens → Add screen, enter the code (or scan the QR), and the screen registers to your account.
- Open the screen, go to the Content tab, and assign your playlist.
The screen starts playing within a few seconds. Full details, including the security model, are in Screens & pairing.
What next?
- Combine multiple screens into a video wall.
- Control what plays when with schedules, including a Sleep rule to blank screens overnight.
- Invite teammates and set roles — see the admin guide.
