Media library

The Media section is your reusable asset library. Everything you put here can be dropped into any number of designs and compositions.

Uploading files

  1. Go to Media.
  2. Drag files onto the upload area, or click Upload and pick files.
  3. Large videos are processed in the background; a status indicator shows progress.

Supported types include common image formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP, SVG, GIF) and video formats (MP4, WebM). Your plan sets the total storage allowance — see the admin guide.

External URLs, embeds, and streams

Not all content needs uploading. Vewport can play content hosted elsewhere:

  • External image / video URLs — link directly to a hosted file.
  • Web embeds — embed a public web page or widget (e.g. a dashboard, a social feed) by URL.
  • Live streams — HLS streams and supported iframe-embeddable players for live video, such as a camera feed or a broadcast.

Add these from the Media section's add menu by choosing the URL / embed / stream option and pasting the address. They appear in the library alongside uploaded files.

Embeds and streams must come from sources that allow embedding. If a page blocks

being framed, it will not display on screens.

Organising and finding media

  • Switch between Details (dense rows) and Icons (visual previews) per section — your choice is remembered.
  • Use search to filter by name.
  • Thumbnails are generated automatically so you can recognise assets at a glance.

Using media

  • In the designer, drag a media item from the Elements panel, or use the media picker, to place it on the canvas.
  • The same asset can appear in many designs — editing the asset does not rewrite designs that already use it (assets are immutable once stored).

Audio

Video audio is muted by default. When you first enable audio anywhere, Vewport shows a one-time licensing reminder — read Sound & audio licensing before playing copyrighted music on public screens.
